RPG on forum?

Postby Drogoth on Mon, 18 Aug 2008, 18:26

Since it seems that most (all?) of the art on this site is based on RPGs the artist has played I thought it would be appropriate to have RPGs like that here, or at least coordinate them here.

I figure we could have a couple of thread based RPGs with the distressed damsels and their tormentors. Is anyone else interested in that?

You know, I'd been working myself up to ask this very question since the forum opened. I'd love to get in on a game; I've had Grigbertzian character ideas banging around in my head ever since I first found out about Sofia and Scarlett. And hey, that Bondage Witch writeup on the Wiki just looks like a lot of fun.

Reminds me, I need to find a copy of Feng Shui...

Cool, lets see how many others volunteer, or if the mods shoot the idea down. Hopefully we'll get some binders as well as some bindees.

So, how does Feng Shui fit in?

I do not think we have any problems with roleplaying, so go right ahead. Grigbertz has some problems coming up with new characters, so this could be fun. On a related note, fiction has a proven record of generating illustrations. Dwarf Jewelry is a good example of this; see Cakeman's text on the wiki.

Please create new threads for roleplaying or fiction. I will create a separate forums if the forum users are creative.

Speaking for myself, it will probably feel weird if someone else plays one of my characters (such as Kim or Sofia). Fiction involving my characters is probably less of a problem. Don't let that stop you, though. It certainly hasn't stopped Grigbertz from creating... ahem... interesting artwork. :D

Feng Shui was mentioned as being one of the systems of choice, and I thiiiiink I remember reading somewhere that it was used for the Al-Qadim game. And hey, it never hurts to learn new systems!

The ideas that the stories might be illustrated someday. Now that would be something to work towards ;)

Sounds like Karyn and I are planning on useing homebrewed characters. I'd reccomend that if people want to use other's characters they ask first. For the record though, are you giving permission Wolf Lord? You seem somewhere between "don't" and "I can't stop you", but in a positive way.

I'll get a thread started up soon.

Eeeh, I've never been able to get into other people's characters' heads. Moot point for me!

Hey, does this mean we may get lots more information about settings like Pontifex Maximus?

Thread is up! I'm using a D&D setting cause that's what I know. Of course there's a lot of flexability there. No problem with a bondage witch or two showing up. It's going to be a freeform storytelling type game.

I was the gamemaster for the TORG, Callipolis, and Al-Qadim campaigns, along with some others. its a huge amount of work to write the backstory for each image, but it is doable to answer specific questions on certain pictures. The best way to ask such questions is in the comment on each picture; I read all new comments and the association with the picture is very clear.

Cidri, I think you've posted in the wrong topic....

Anyway, sorry if the opening post is a bit long. I had the story sitting around and just had to make some changes to make it work. I don't expect everyone's posts to be that long, and don't you all expect all of mine to be like that. Lets not make them too short either though.
