An unlikely group of adventurers

'You think I care?' Nemele snarled, stepping forward as the succubus stepped back. She remained quite ignorant of Tremain and Lazaka's approach as she shifted her grip on the stick, holding it like she might hold a halberd or a glaive. 'And I may not be able to kill you, but I can hurt you...'

She dug her heels into the ground. She had no intention of allowing the thing to remain near the camp, and she certainly didn't want it coming anywhere near Selena.

[Drogoth]

"Oh but you should care." The succubus in lowered tones, abruptly changed her mood when the innocent tactic wasn't working "I came here to deliver a message, it's not for you, but you should hear it. 'I've been playing nice up till now. If I don't get what I want I'm going to be much more aggressive the next time I have to hunt you down. And heaven help anyone that crosses my path on that journey'."



"Yesadri?" Tremain sighed, having reached the group just in time to miss her little speech. "You're back. I see you found your way out of that necklace."

He spoke in tones someone might use with an especially annoying visitor.

"Necklace, wrapped in holly, doused in holy water, buried under a crossroads.... Yep!" Beatrice said with innocent happiness. Her outward mood once again changing rapidly now that Tremain was in earshot.


"Why's Nemele so upset?" Lazaka said leaning a little sideways to say quietly to Selena. By calling a little attention to herself the dragon girl earned herself a look over from the succubus, her scales turning a brighter shade of red from it.

Selena backed closer to Lazaka. "It's... a succubus," she said quietly. "A demon of lust... I suppose her order doesn't get along with demons all that well..."

'An acquaintance, Tremain?' Nemele asked, stepping just slightly to the side and not lowering her guard for an instant. 'She seems to think that she can intimidate me. Do you want to hear what she has to say, or should I just send her back from whence she came?'

[Drogoth]

"Believe me, I've tried that." Tremain sighed in a quiet aside to Nemele "She keeps coming back from whence she came, and whence else I try to send her."

"Yesadri," he said to the succubus "Can't you take a hint?"

"No," she replied sweetly "But I can take anything else you can dish out... You keep those two pets, but you keep brushing me off. Why?"

"They aren't pets!" He protested "I don't want you here!"

"Then why did you summon me?" she pouted.

"That was years ago." he grit his teeth "I dismissed you. You aren't supposed to come back."



"Does anyone get along with them?" Lazaka asked rhetorically while trying to figure out the conversation.

Then she paused abruptly and glared sideways at Selena "Oh... right... you do."

Selena shot a wry glance at Lazaka, then narrowed her eyes as it spread to a slight grin. Turning toward Tremain and the demon, she said, "A demon of lust is not so easily dismissed... especially if there is an element of attraction that draws them back." Her lips spread into a long smug grin and she flashed the demon a wink.

'I do not like standing around and making threats, Tremain,' Nemele said, icily. 'It makes me look like a braggart. I far prefer acting on threats. Now...' She narrowed her eyes at the demon. 'Unless you have a very good reason for hearing her out, I'm going to begin doing things the way I prefer.'

[Drogoth]

((quick note changed name from Beatrice to Yesadri. Turns out I'd mentioned it earlier, and it just sounds more demony))

"I already said," Yesadri folded her arms "If I have to re-corporate I'm going to wake up very angry."

"However," Yesadri said trying to sidestep a little, but finding the branch followed her "If you wanna listen. You could stop me for good."

Tremain blinked, concern crossing his face "What are you-"

"Can't be terrorizing the villagers if I'm with you can I?" she said with a wink.

"I was afraid of that." Tremain sighed.

"Deal's this." Yesadri said walking toward Nemele slowly "You could destroy me, but I'll be back. Or, your wizard friend could take me prisoner. It's not like you all don't have practice. I'll even come nicely." she put her hands in front of her in a gesture of surrender.


"What is she getting at?" Lazaka said, mostly to herself. "There has to be some reason..."

Lilith, trying her best not to grin to herself, wandered closer, leaning in over Nemele's shoulder. "She's right, you can't dismiss a succubus so easily. You could destroy her now, but she will simply reform and cause mischief elsewhere. Do you really want to do that?" She whispered to the cleric.

'It's hardly easy to restrain the things, either,' Nemele said to Selena. 'So I'd better hear a very good proposal for how this is going to happen. I have no intention of allowing such a creature to walk unbound or uncontrolled.'
