My narrative for this scene is a trifle shorter. The Guard saying "Now that your power is contained by Cold Iron, Sorceress, you can have your audience with the King. But you shall wear those chains for as long as you are in the castle."

Lucrecia was the highest leader of the witch covenant in the realm of Xyphrezia.
She was of royal heritage but the king no longer considered her a daughter.
Lucrecia was wickedly evil, always making trouble for the kingdom and taking malicious pleasure from it.
She was also strikingly beautiful and develishly intelligent, thus being a threat to peace and order.
Many adventurers ventured out to defeat her and many wizards attempted to capture her with magical means, all of them failed. Many times Lucreccia humilitated the king and his court, once even she turned the entire army to stone and thrown a big party in the king's hall, with daemons and witches from across the land as guests.
When neighbouring monarchs started to disrespect the Xyphresian king for not being able to keep peace in his own realm, he was desperated enough to offer one of his daughter's hand to anyone that will put end to Lucrecia's doings.
Everybody waited for some famous knight or a brave swashbuckler to appear, but there was no one left with courage to mess with Lucrecia. The king's youngest daughter, princess Sara was supposed to marry the hero and was dissapointed that not even a single warrior came.
Few months passed and the king found a letter under lying on his throne.
The letter was from Lucrecia and she brashly threatened to come to the castle and single handedly abduct his young daughter. "If no knight wants to risk his life to marry Sara i will give her daemon prince Alexanthyr as a gift.
Anyone that tries to stop me will suffer in a way he cannot even imagine."
The king saw that his knight's are more likely to run away than fight, actually his best cavaliers were already lost in attempts to seize Lucrecia, their fate still unknown.
As the king was considering to flee his palace somebody finally turned up at the court. He was a rather old man that in dirty peasant's clothing. He didn't look noble, nor did he had any weapons with him but the king still granted him an audience.
The old man introduced himself as Yarkley the wandering mage and offered to capture Lucrecia if the king will, truely to his word give him princess Sara. He had different plans for her than marriage but would not tell the king what he wanted of Sara.
He only guarranteed that Sara will be back after ten year unharmed and still a virgin. King agreed with a heavy heart and Yarkley got to work.
The strange wizard put up a protective spell around the castle which was supposed to be unbreachable even by Lucrecia's powerful sorcery, and it was so. When Lucrecia approached the castle she could not make a step more as the invisible barrier was too much even for her. Lucrecia shouted curses at the castle and threatend to have her revenge at Yarkley but could not get past his barrier of force.
Not wanting to admit surrender the witch preyed on villager from around the castle instead. She burned farms, she abducted people, defaced the local temples and threatened to take the castle by starvation.
The king asked wanted to know what the strange wizard will do now. "Look Yarkley, she has the townspeople clad in chains, she put all the crops to fire, you must do something more than just cowering here like a rat in a hole.", he said, and Yarkley just smiled.
"Your majest must now announce that he no longer desires my services and i will leave the palace. After that i will need a guard's uniform to disguise myself, but that will be kept a secret." And king did what he was told to.
Lucrecia's pretty face took up the evilest of grins whe she learned about that. "Will you admit your defeat now?
You can either wait to die behind your magical barrier or give that wench princess Sara to me! Do not worry, prince Alexanthyr can give her love no mortal man could!", she shouted.
And then a guard came up to her, she did not notice it was Yarkley in his disguise when he said in a raspy voice:
"We will put the barrier down, but if you are to stand before the king you will have to be put in chains..."
Lucrecia looked at him with anger, "What? It is him that has to surrender! You must be mad to even suggest that."
But Yarkley continued calmly:"We just want to spare his majesty the humilitation. The king will give his daughter willingly, after all a deamon prince is better than thad crazy old sage... We just want everebody to think he gave you Sara willingly. After all no chains will be able to stop your magics, right?" she said showing her two ornate pair of shackles.
Lucrecia knew that she could turn the chains to dust with one word and felt a tingle of excitement about putting them on. She put her hands behind her back and smiled playfully. "Shackle me good and true guard.", she said and Yarkley slowly started to lock the manacles on her wrists and arms.
Lucrecia paraded into the throne room with her hands cuffed, noting that the barrier was indeed dispelled.
She twisted her arms in the bindings with satisfaction, they were like custom made for her, fitting her slender arms as closely as possible and she mused to herself that without magic there would be no way of ever freeing herself from them. Of course she needed just one word of magic to make them go away...
The king sat on his throne with a grim face. Lucrecia looked for princess Sara but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Where's that soon-to-be deamon's bride?
Are you toying with me old coot?" she said, and then Yarkley emerged from behind the throne, no longer in disguise, and walked up to her.
"Arrogant and bratty excuse for a witch, you can try you magics now when you are wearing Dweomerite manacles..." he boomed and Lucrecia at that moment indeed could not muster any magic power from herself. She felt like when she was still a girl, before she started learning magics. She was defensless and only her eyes blazed with unnatural light. A knight walked up to her and all the king's court saw that Lucrecia was powerless to do anything. She screamed and cried, sparks flying from her eyes but she could do nothing.
Yarkley left with princess Sara the next day, reminding the king that only as long as the manacles will bind Lucrecia she will be powerless. The wizard took young princess Sara with him and her adventures are completely different story. I can only tell you that she came back being a powerful wizard-slayer, a fighter skilled at combating sorcereres and magical creatures.
