Doing post-graduate biology research, Aurora Falk joined an international, interdisciplinary team investigating some very strange discoveries in the jungles of Guatemala.
The discoveries included some primordial artifacts made of a mysterious morphing memory metal. Some of these appeared like human-sized jewelry and Aurora tried them on.
Of course this caused the dormant powers to activate and they locked themselves on her, binding her hands.
The artifacts could not be removed by any means known to science. Wearing them sharpened Aurora's senses to such an extent that even wearing clothes became unbearable. After shedding her protective layer she became supernaturally aware of all life around her and she felt promises of even stranger powers.
The Space Buddy is an intelligent amorphous entity, not from the stars, but from a fourth spatial dimension. Its body extends into the fourth dimension making it effectively indestructible and giving it the ability to seemingly grow and shrink at will. It can extend tentacles of incredible strength.
The Buddy needs a sentient host to anchor it in our dimension, which to its 4-D senses is paper-thin and hard to align with properly. The host needs to be physically controlled for Buddy to hold on its grip on our reality.
By connecting to the Earth's Noosphere it has become attracted to human females, leading to its choice of Jonna to be its anchor. The Buddy is basically benevolent and lends Jonna incredible super powers to help protect her existence. For example, it has awareness of what goes on in distant places and can teleport there, carrying Jonna by using its tentacles.
After a burst of activity it needs to replenish its energy for some time. Sexy stuff may inspire it to recharge faster.
First order of business is to gain some mass by absorbing clothing, starting with the most important parts.
The creature is helpful and friendly as long as it gets to keep Lyssa naked and tied up.
The ropes and gag seem to have been absorbed by the self-replicating metallic nano-substance her team was working on.
Is this a plot to blackmail her for control of the counteragent to the nanites?
She was tied up wearing bra and panties, and the self-replicating nanites used that non-living matter for raw material. The nanite activity persisted in those areas, generating heat while awaiting more material to convert.
The intruders casually fondled her for a while before exiting the room, leaving her flopped down on the floor. And then they were just gone. She couldn't hear any sound of their movement or the opening and closing of doors.
She lay motionless in the semi-darkness, straining her ears, but the only sound she could hear was the faint ticking of the grandfather clock in the hallway.
