The Prime Directive forbids visitors to Fantasy World to interfere with its culture or development in any way. An automated security system helps the visitor abide by the rules.
Disallowed and enforced by the security system:
- Communication by speech, body language, etc
- Interaction with environment.
- Bringing items, except for the security system itself.
- Moving away from the designated landing spot.
Visitors must be screened and accepted by the local authorities according to strict contact protocol. A visual representation of the visitor must be provided for evaluation.

The text doesn't describe what the pillory looks like. Rather than using common carpentry tools, I imagine the troll magically twisted a poor tree into this shape.

Pixies have a deep-rooted fear of being swatted and being in the vicinity of unrestrained human hands. Many of them still look for human company especially pretty girls.
A tied up girl might be approached by a Pixie, who will proceed to use magic to get the girl out of trouble while at the same time improving on her bonds.
