View CommentsslemhogenAs the guy who commissioned it, I can tell you that the chained girl is the factol of a new faction (since the free league always claims it's no faction) that concerns psychic powers. The girl behind her is a druid wearing a chaos armour, and is parading her factol around the city. Posted by Guest on Mon 04 Oct 2004, 01:58 EDT faile35@yahoo.comSee, I knew there was a story behind this one--it just took a little sharing. Thanks, "Slem." I find it interesting how the art on this site juxtaposes power with restraint. I find it more interesting that I have actually found a proper use of the word "juxtapose"... =) Posted by Guest on Mon 04 Oct 2004, 19:40 EDT sir tIf she's the new Factol, why is she chained up like that? Posted by Guest on Sat 27 Nov 2004, 04:34 EST nelaonnice armor! :D Posted by Guest on Wed 02 Feb 2005, 03:32 EST Drakkisir t, i think she actuall enjoys traveling like that... Being stringently bound she can concentrate on her psychic powers maybe. Posted by Guest on Fri 25 Feb 2005, 10:29 EST SlemhogenWell, look at it like this: She has all the resources of an entire faction at her beck and call. Yes, she does have psionic powers, but the main point to make is that it doesn't much matter. Mess with her, and regret it. The chains are merely flamboyance. (Hehe, I got to use a good word too =)) As another point, I'd say that corset turned out great. =) Posted by Guest on Tue 22 Mar 2005, 03:56 EST sotoSomething of a historic expansion on Slemhogen's comments. In some cultures it was considered a mark of power to be incapiable of work. The extremely long fingernails cultivated by the elites during China's Ming dynasty, for example, were a demonstration of the fact that not only was the elite currently incapiable of labor, but had not labored for long enough to grow out the fingernails. While there aren't any historic examples quite like this (darn it), it does much the same thing. The bound woman is saying, in effect, "I'm so rich/powerful that I can afford to have someone do *everything* for me, and I trust in my power and wealth to protect me even though I can't even move without help." Pure power politics. Posted by Guest on Wed 03 May 2006, 08:21 EDT bentos"I can psi-blast you with my both arms bound behind my back !" By the way, the corset dress is magnificent... Posted by Guest on Thu 31 Aug 2006, 17:47 EDT I love the idea of enduring masochistic pain and humiliation in the name of flamboyance. What if the flamboyance extended to nudity or even submitting sexually to anyone at any time. "I am so rich/powerful/important that I can casually toss my extravagantly beautiful body to the masses as a sex object and it doesn't really matter." Imagine a person so important that you would respect and revere her even if she were bound naked and giving you a blow job. Posted by Guest on Thu 29 Jan 2009, 02:00 EST |

I got the Planescape setting on the tail end of my D&D experience, so I never played in it. "Torment" was my favorite of the comp. games, though. This "tiefling" (?) with the living armor would fit right in--and Sigil could use a half-million slaves like the woman on the floating pedestal...
