She had been singing along with the fairies, who soon became enthralled with her voice.
"Our Queen herself was impressed by your singing. You will surely go on to become a legendary minstrel."
"In dreams maybe, but in the real world you need to earn money. I couldn't hope to make a proper living singing. I aim to be a scribe, who can always find a paying job."
The Fairy Queen was irked and decreed Sheela's singing voice too precious to be set aside for some mundane human concerns.
Her fairy subjects took a straightforward approach to making the scribe career a non-option.
She is still filled with the excitement of fairy enchantment. Literally so with a mysteriously pleasant buzzing inside of her.
Still unmindful of her predicament she feels a song coming on...
The pleasant buzzing is connected to... a chain! What is going on?
The magic mouth feystone cheerfully explains all the wonderful boons bestowed upon the increasingly frustrated Sheela.
"The Queen found you unnecessarily coy last night. The magic will encourage you to overcome that, and thereby enhance your performance."
Color by Tuft.
"I am of the same mind as they. Since a fairy enchantment like that cannot be undone, you should reconsider my offer from before and become the star of my show."
"But they told me I can't wear clothes any more and then there is this... thing... inside..."
"Don't worry. It will work out perfectly."
"Nonsense! I'm a well known character in these parts"
"That's the problem. Your... questionable reputation."
"Hmm..."
"I’ve got it! Let’s get Dina, the tavern keeper. If she's with me we'll look a lot less suspicious..."
"Good idea! So, you're naked and tied up, but that’s just how you like it, right?"
"No!"
"Isn't that the story we're going with? Otherwise it's enslavement or kidnapping, you know."
"Well..."
"You could portray yourself as a victim of the fairies, but that seems a bit bleak, don’t you think? It might also risk offending them."
"But wanting to be naked, what does that say about me?"
"It’s show business. It’s your act, your persona. It’s all for the audience. Propriety, dignity, modesty, you're giving it all up for the sake of music!"
Her clever friend, Disa the barmaid, produced a poncho and pulled it over her head. Sheela was covered and decent, but felt a tingling sensation...
POOF!
The single button soon gave out, flinging the poncho towards the ceiling.
It seemed the Fairy Magic would have Sheela remain uncovered, no matter what.
She has picked up the ability to cast the spell Dancing Lights without doing the magic gestures.
A Fairy Dragonling has appointed itself her protector for the night. It deemed these fellows properly respectful and worthy of her company.
The villagers asked Sheela, the fey-touched minstrel if she could do something about it, and indeed she could, as her singing strongly appeals to fey creatures.
Unable to resist the dragonets followed the singing Sheela all the way back to the fairy grove where they forgot all about boring human civilization.
