The figures in the background are larger than life. The pillars might be transparent, so we see thru them, or the background is a reflection of something going on behind the viewer.

Golden Ratio

Try the Golden Ratio in wikipedia. Ratio of bust to waist of 1.62, same for hips to waist, same for top of head to waist to waist to toes. Try bettie paige home page. Her measurements are 36,23,35, thought to be close to ideal and fairly close to the Golden Ratio.

Those aren't on the wall behind her, unless the collumns were painted to form the illusion that it was a solid painting, the images cross over the pillars.
