I love the way Sophia stops Scarlett from speaking so she has to listen. I'm also glad to see some new work added to this fantasy series. Lovely stuff here.

Okay, real comments:
I'd guess she's happy because he's sharing his drink with her. If I were him, I'd take a sip, then kiss her, letting her drink from my lips. Well, that's how I do it with my wife, anyway.
Another point I love is how the two pillars are out in the open, easily seen, and made easily visible at night by it's own overhead lantern to illuminate the lady held there.
