I rember discussing the text with Grigbertz when he made the drawing. There is no variant spelling; we just got it wrong.

Thanks! I think you must be right about the spelling, since I couldn't find ANY latin roots resembling "peng-".
When I look up "pinguis" in an on-line dictionary, I get: "fat; rich, fertile; thick; dull, stupid;" so maybe any of the above?

My guess is "always fat", put it should probably be spelled "pinguis".

Love the Simpson's reference. And I adore how the drink is being mixed. God is in the details... even in hell, it appears. ;)

Wow! Ok, thanks, Deadpan, I wouldn't have noticed that on my own. Very interesting. Again, just another example of the wonderful level of detail that keeps me coming back. I love the stockings as well.

What really makes this one for me are the ribbon-garters. The tiny details in these pics are amazing. Things like Phoenix's recurring happy/angry kneepads, the garter-ribbons, all of that.

I love both of the banner girls. Your ability to suggest wiht so few lines is amazing. I thought, when I first came across your art, that color would ruin it. Now I see that's wrong, though it clearly has to be handled carefully.
