Certain Grav Race drivers are marketed as [IdolDriver[s - most often the young and beautiful ones. An Idol Driver not only drives a GravRacer, but becomes a role model and idol to thousands of (mostly teenage) fans as well.
IdolDrivers often do other things besides race - such as singing, staring in Sexy Soaps or otherwiseperforming. But the most important thing for an Idol Driver is to have their own distinctive style for the fans to immitate.
IdolDrivers rarely drive all that well, but can still make fortunes and even win races because of viewer support. Pure Grav Race drivers often think of them as posers.
Sonia Wight has been marketed as an Idol Driver for the Qirex Kombinat, with Phoneix as her pet/sidekick/fashion accessory.
