Dark City

Did you know tha the brain retains short-term memory for up to an hour after death? Do you know that it continues to collect impressions for up to five minutes after the cesassion of higher functions? Well, most people in Dark City now know this, thanks to Deathwatch, the media corporation that broadcasts the memories of the dead.

Not only do they not need to pay their cameramen, they can alos get into situations that literally no-one walked out from alive. Sometimes, their coverage of major events is a bit late, but their operatives are masters of finding some recently deceased person whose memories can be tapped.

Necromancy? No, this is strictly a technological procedure. Necromancy s a pure superstition, it does not exist. And no-one has ever proven that Deathwatch kills people in order to broadcast their memories, despite several investigations by Third Eye. Actually, several of these investigators have wound up making their final report on Deathwatch.

Deathwatch is seemingy an independent corporation, but must have some powerful backing to survive attacks from Third Eye and other competitors. No none knows who these backers are.
