Action is a homebrew game under continual development. The idea is a fast-paced game where action is easy to act out, leaving time for drama and plot.

In Action all power users, which includes magicians, must belong to a tradition. This defines how your powers are used, when they are extra powerful, and when they won't work at all. Bondage Witchery is not a tradition in its own, and can fit in any origin. Rather, it is a guideline how to use different Methods in a bondage witch context.

This page contains a great number of external links that reference Action rules. This is unfortunate but necessary.

The Bondage Witch Metatradition

Bondage witchery is not a tradition per se, rather it is a set of methods used across many traditions. A bondage witch generally belongs to a "normal" tradition as well as being a bondage witch, subject to the methods and rules of both. Most bondage witches began their career as normal practitioners of their tradition, only gradually developing into bondage witches as circumstances dictated.

Powers

Any, as determined by their "normal" tradition. Depending on what type of bondage witch you are and the whims of your Master (if any), certain styles of power might be more common. Many bondage witches take powers to make up for their handicap; hover, telekinesis, second sight and similar powers let you bypass some of the restrictions imposed by bondage. Other bondage witches find such powers counterproductive, or are forbidden by their masters to use such cheats.

Origin

Any, as determined by their "normal" tradition. Gifts and Magic are the most common origins for bondage witches.

Limitations

These limitations add flavor to a bondage witch.

  • Casual Adventurer This is not a matter of choice for most bondage witches, but simply the result of being unable to carry stuff around.
  • Loyalty A submissive bondage witch is naturally loyal to the interests of her Master. Of course, she might still harbor plots against him - mainly to get more attention - but whenever there is danger or a true conflict of interest, she follows where he leads. Some bondage witches have this without being consciously aware of it - they resist domination with all their might, but always cave in and remain loyal at the critical moment.
  • Meek A truly submissive bondage witch is meek, easily falling under the sway of any forceful master. This is the typical female reaction in Gor. If you are also loyal, you have one master whose interest lie closest to your heart, but still cannot resist being the plaything of other forceful personalities - it is simply not in your nature to resist.
  • ProudYou might be bound, submitted, and humiliated, but you carry this off with panache. You find pride in your bound nakedness and will not shrink when put on display and hate having your beauty and worthiness questioned.
  • Property In societies where slavery is legal or where witches are considered dangerous and in need of restraint, this is a very common limitation. It removes all chance of succor and aid by legal means, making it legal for anyone to bind and enslave you.
  • Victim This makes you an accidental bondage witch - trough no fault of your own, you tend to end up bound and helpless, at the mercy of whatever perils prevail locally.
  • Power Elixir This can take a special form to a bondage witch, requiring the semen, piss, or other bodily fluid of their Master.
  • Power Submission Common among bondage witches with a submissive streak even they do not know about, power submission is the core of the Enslaved Witch role.

Methods

  • Costume Some bondage witches cannot work magic at all unless they uphold a dress code - commonly to be wearing cuffs, but not necessarily bound in them.
  • Echoes Commonly cuffs that seemingly have a will of their own, restraining you more and more as you use your powers.
  • Loss of Control Some bondage witches really do channel the power of infernal forces, and risk losing control of their actions. This is the moral ground that lets good institutions hold bondage witches in the first place.
  • Power Explosion A violent power release that leaves you naked and exposed - what more could a bondage witch wish for?
  • Power Signature If your powers are all bondage-themed in appearance, that is a pretty strong hint about your tradition. Stronger clues hint at your specific methods and limitations.
  • Restraint Not as ubiquitous as one would think, this is a method for a bondage witch who has learned to overcome and profit from the limitations of restraints.
  • Talisman This is the method for a bondage witch who constantly wears a single set of cuffs or some signature jewelry, but be warned that it is quite hard to come up with stunts that directly involve an item that is not hand held.
  • Tantrism For carnal bondage witches, this is almost mandatory. Ice queens will not have it.
