Introduction

Congratulations on purchasing a set of Capture Cuffs from Bondage Witch Project. Combined with the free Master HUD (Included), this will let you hand out an unlimited number of Witchbound cuffs that anyone can use as long as they remain in the same sim as you.

This product comes in two parts, a Witchbound Master HUD and the BWP Capture Cuffs installer. The HUD is the part you will actually use; the installer is only used once, to enable the HUD to hand out each kind of cuffs. Once enabled, the Master HUD can hand out an unlimited number of Capture Cuffs.

What is in this Package?

  • One Master HUD
  • One Capture Cuffs installer of the appropriate type
  • A Readme notecard
  • Two landmarks to BWP shops
  • Two gestures used to modify the appearance of the Master HUD. See Special Features below.

How to Install Capture Cuffs

Capture cuffs have to be installed in the Master Hud before they can be used. This is very simple and straightforward.

  • Wear the Witchbound Master HUD
  • Wear the capture cuffs you want to install (the object in the sales box)
  • The two objects will communicate, and the capture cuffs installer will be detached
  • You can install several different sets of Capture Cuffs in one Master HUD, handing out the desired sets by using the menus in the HUD.

How to Use the Witchbound Master HUD

This is what the Master HUD always does, even without Capture Cuffs installed.

The HUD detects and communicates with the HUDs worn with Witchbound. It checks whether you can bind the wearer, and if you can, it puts the name of the wearer on a button. Pressing this button gives you access to the Witchbound items worn by that person. This is the same as saying "/44 <initials>menu", but as a HUD function instead. There are also some special functions that give you additional information.

  • If you are an operator on the cuffs and the Witchbound HUD is version 2.3 or later, the button will be green.
  • If you are NOT an operator or the Witchbound HUD is version 2.2, the button will be yellow. You can still access the cuffs in this state.
  • If you cannot access someone's Witchbound HUD, for whatever reason, they will not appear on a button at all. Also, if the victim's HUD is version 2.1 or earlier, they will not appear.
  • A heart "♥" symbol after the name means the weares is using a RLV viewer for Second Life
  • A lozenge "♦" symbol means that person is locked and unable to access their own cuffs.
  • An empty lozenge "◊" symbol means the person is locked to yellow lock mode, but that you can lock them to condition red if you like.
  • Up to 8 buttons with 8 different Witchbound wearers can be displayed at once
  • Clicking on the green crown (master) symbol refreshes the buttons. They also automatically refresh periodically.
  • Clicking the black Witchbound smiley collapses the HUD.

Master HUD with Capture Cuffs

Once one or more sets of Capture Cuffs have been installed into a Master HUD, new functions become available. A new top-level button appears, with a box on it. Pressing this button shows a list of names of people nearby, candidates for receiving Capture Cuffs. Pressing a button opens a menu where you select what type of capture cuffs to give them. Your name is always at the top of this list, which allows you to give cuffs to yourself and learn how the capture cuffs work.

-- How to use Capture Cuffs -- Your victim receives an object named "BWP Capture XXX Cuffs" (where XXX is the name of the set you sent them. Wearing this object delivers a set of Capture Cuffs directly to the victim, in a new folder with your name on it. The victim has to wear the cuffs in this folder. If the victim takes on these cuffs in a timely manner, you will automatically be set as Operator, able to control the cuffs fully. The cuffs start out with a "behind the back" cuffed pose, but not locked.

(The delivery objects looks like a pair of handcuffs, and has a behind-the-back pose in it, but this is purely cosemtic)

The above, as a bullet list:

  • Make sure capture cuffs are installed
  • Click on the button with the box
  • Select your victim from the list of avatar names
  • The victim receives an object to wear that looks like a basic cuff set
  • The victim puts on this object, which starts the delivery process
  • The victim receives the full set of capture cuffs from the BWP server
  • The victim puts on these new cuffs, and you are set as Operator
  • You can begin using the cuffs

Special-interest information on the Master Hud and Capture Cuffs.

How Do Capture Cuffs Work?

The Master Hud sends the victim an object to wear. This objects sends a signal to a server on our property, that sends the cuff set back - this is similar to how Marketplace delivers merchandise. The server and cuffs then collaborate and check whose HUD sent the initial request, and sets that person (you) as the operator.

How Does Capture Cuffs Differ from other Witchbound Cuffs?

The following does not apply to Capture Metal Cuffs, which are in all was identical to the normal Metal Cuffs that we hand out as a freebie.

In almost every way, a set of Capture Cuffs is identical to a normal Witchbound cuff set. However, they are limited so that they will not function properly except when they are in the same sim as someone wearing a Master Hud with that kind of capture cuffs installed. What this means is that as long as you wear your Master HUD and you and the victim are in the same sim, they cuffs function normally. When the victim is alone, the cuffs cannot be operated. They remain as they are, but clicking them gives a menu with only two options - do nothing and unlock.

Customizing Appearance

The text on the Master HUD will align differently with the buttons depending on screen resolution. Sometimes the height of the text will look odd. To alleviate this, we include two gestures, one that nudges the text on the HUD down and the other up. This is purely comsetic and doesnt change the function in any way.
