Demon Gamma ties Phoenix down on a building in the old Undercity. Sonia Wight and Alexandra pursue in Sonia Wight's car. When they reach the tunnel to the Undercity, a detachment from City Hall led by Judas White and Helena King are setting up roadblocks and preparing artillery rocket launchers. They give Our Heroines tracers and promise to warn when they launch their missiles.

Diving like bats into hell through the tunnels, Sonia Wight notices that Demon Alpha is sitting under her car. She has a chance to smash him into a girder on the way down, but plays dumb and takes him along as a distraction.

Our Heroines rush out of the Level Chute and into the Undercity. This place is what Sonia Wight remembers a city to be - a congestion of buildings. Only it is in ruins, lit only by the occasional fire, and placed in a huge chamber. Alexandra is vaguely agoraphobic.

We locate Phoenix, and realize there is a general race towards the skyscraper where Demon Gamma has tied her up. Warder Girl and her cultists are here, as is the Chosen One. When Demon Alpha starts to create an army out of the collapsing city, it is as if the whole place comes alive.

Sonia Wight drives close to Phoenix and Demon Gamma and launches herself at them. She gets in a real good shot at Demon Gamma, almost skewering him. This gives Phoenix the distraction she needs, and she can finish Demon Gamma off - among with an entire building right behind him. The city now becomes a very confused battleground. Sonia Wight reports incoming City Hall missiles, while Demon Alpha and his minions battle Alexandra, Phoenix and the Chosen One. In the end, Demon Alpha is slain by Phoenix and Our Heroines run for it, meeting the missiles as they enter the cave.
