The campsite that Nancy finds is the same one that Ella was at (Their Number One Fan). It happens several weeks later. Ella's friends did not recover her stuff after they found her, they were too busy taking her to the hospital (and teasing her). Afterwards, she was too busy to get them to go back.

The copper tasting drug that Nancy has is actually a form of nanites. It's not as strong or as useful as the full nano-goo. It has two functions: It prevents Nancy from talking at a key moment (just in case she would call for help), and it makes Nancy forget what happens after it is activated, so she does not remember most of what happened on the ship. They do this because they do not wish to risk Nancy exposing them, as she has been hostile to them on her show.
